From buttplate to muzzle, the Big Boy Deluxe Engraved Side Gate is a best-in-class example of our iconic pistol-caliber rifle category. Reminiscent of the prized, highly embellished rifles of the late 19th century, this Deluxe Engraved series is built to be cherished as an heirloom for many generations to come.

This limited-edition rifle is crafted with uniquely figured genuine American walnut furniture and a solid hardened brass receiver with no coating or plating to dull or chip over time. Equipped with a blued steel 20” octagon barrel, a fully adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight, and a brass bead front sight, this functional piece of art is just as enjoyable to shoot as it is to admire, own, and display.

Like our standard Big Boy Side Gate, the Deluxe Engraved model benefits from adding a side loading gate – allowing the user to keep the 10-round magazine tube topped off on the fly. We retained our traditional removable magazine tube for fast and safe unloading.

Inspired by some of the most renowned names in firearms engraving history, the receiver is adorned with traditional flowing leafy scrollwork and meticulous beading for added contrast. A scalloped border encloses the design and complements the clean lines of the Big Boy’s receiver.

A rifle of this caliber is defined by attention to detail, so the engraving is continued on the barrel band, on top of the receiver, and the upper tang behind the hammer. Production of the Big Boy Deluxe Engraved Side Gate is limited to just 1,000 units of each caliber. Once they’re gone, they won’t be made available again.

Built in the USA to Henry’s world-renowned standards of quality, the Mare’s Leg is a modified variation of the Henry Big Boy Brass Side Gate and available in .44 Magnum, .357 Magnum, and .45 Colt.

Like all Henry Rifles, each Mare’s leg sports a select, handcrafted American Walnut stock cut to the exact specification of the gun used on the television series. The large loop lever and the legendary crisp Henry action make it easy to enjoy those rapid-fire repeating shots – just like Steve McQueen.

Like the full-sized rifles these pistols are based on, the Mare’s Leg features a side loading gate on its gleaming brass receiver, allowing you to keep the five-round tube magazine fully loaded on the fly. We’ve also retained our removable magazine tube, making for safe and easy unloading after a day at the range.
