While our best-selling Bugout®s sure do have an array of colors to choose from as far as handles go — folks have been asking about pairing this all-star EDC with more premium scales found on other styles. The new 535SL-13 Bugout® is built with a super sleek, ultralight, anodized aluminum handle in crater blue, a color we pulled from profoundly deep waters in nature. Featuring a premium CPM-S90V stainless steel drop point blade with a Cerakote® crushed silver finish, and turquoise anodized hardware, the new 535SL-13 is an elevated variant within the Bugout® family that carries light, tackling any EDC task, outdoors and in.

Proper care and regular maintenance help make your Benchmade knife yours, for life. Here are some tips for keeping your Benchmade in peak condition:
• Prevent Rust: All steels, regardless of grade or price, can eventually rust. To avoid corrosion, always keep your knife clean, dry, and lightly lubricated. If rust or spotting appears, a quality semi-chrome metal polish can usually restore the finish.
• Hand-Wash Only: Always hand-wash your knife with warm water and mild dish soap, then dry thoroughly.
• Use as Intended: Benchmade knives are precision cutting tools. Do not use your knife as a pry-bar, screwdriver, chisel, or punch—unless specifically designed for those functions.
• Sharpen with Care: If sharpening at home, avoid grinding wheels and high-speed machinery, as they can damage the blade. Use appropriate hand-sharpening methods for best results.
• Tighten Hardware: Over time, handle, pivot, and pocket clip screws may loosen. Use T6 and T10 Torx drivers for adjustments and apply a small amount of releasable thread-locker to maintain secure fittings.
